The Petal Dish is a tiny, feather-light vessel inspired by a series of functional ceramics created whilst living in Japan. The dish is suited to displaying favourite collections, holding tealights and serving small, tasty things or shoyu at the table.
The Petal Dish is sculpted by hand from a ball of speckled stoneware clay with a tiny amount of Pease Bay clay wedged through. During the making process it has been slowly dried and worked into to create a shape that is thin and delicate, like the sakura petals from which it takes its form. The dish has been coated with creamy, matt glaze through which the texture and colour of the clay beneath shines through.
Care: gentle handwashing is recommended. The Petal Dish is not suitable for dishwashers, microwaves or heating in the oven.
